**Internship opportunity available to students for 2010 Winter or Spring term.** Company Description: Mirant's 11 generating plants produce as much as 10,112 megawatts of electricity - enough to power about 10 million homes - for wholesale and large retail customers. These plants are supported by our risk management and marketing operations in Atlanta - services that help us optimize plant efficiency and cost management. The Bowline Generating Station is a conventional dual-fuel (natural gas / oil) steam power plant capable of generating 1,125 MW. It is located approximately 35 miles north of New York City. Summary of Position: This internship will provide the candidate with the opportunity to learn the basics of operating and maintaining a conventional power plant. Current engineering students who live in the West Haverstraw area are encouraged to apply. If you live outside of the West Haverstraw area, please note - there is no housing stipend offered with this position.
