| Overview: |
The position involves participation in all aspects of new project development. Duties include support of new project development and Merger and Acquisition activity assisting Project Director with development activities such as tracking and reporting of project status, participation in discussions with counterparties and regulatory agencies, reviewing and commenting on outside consultant work product, assisting with financial analysis and other evaluations, and performing other related duties at Project Director's direction. The position will involve increasing levels of responsibility.

| Qualifications: |
1-2 years experience in a business (accounting, budgeting, trading, and/or financial analysis) function or similar experience in an energy operations environment. - Interest in the competitive energy markets.
- Preferred exposure to regulatory agencies or in a regulatory environment.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of accounting and budgeting and financial analysis.
- Excellent quantitative and written skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Good technical ability with computer systems - proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- High tolerance for stress; ability to adapt to changing requirements and quickly bring assignments to completion
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and to identify problems and solutions without constant guidance and instruction.
- Uses discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information.
- Displays good business judgement, willingness to take responsibility and initiative to make decisions within scope of responsibility applying critical thinking to a wide variety of topics.
- Self-motivated team player with a desire to learn about new project development.
Education: Required: BS Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Business or equivalent with relevant experience Other Requirements: This position requires the ability to perform effectively in a team environment, and work well with others inside and outside the Mirant system. It is particularly important that the candidate be able to work effectively with other members of Mirant's operations, corporate accounting and tax departments and Mirant management and executives. This position requires the ability to work overtime (including weekends) with little or no advance notice and will require up to 25% travel annually.
