The candidate will provide support for the Hyperion applications in use at Mirant.  Mirant is currently using Hyperion System 9.3.1, with the following modules in production:  Hyperion Financial Management, Financial Reports, Essbase, Shared Services, and Web Analysis.  Mirant currently has a prototype application in Hyperion Planning and is looking to expand their use of the Planning application.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Analyzing the business needs for internal customers and devising solutions
• Developing/unit testing in PL/SQL, Excel, and a scripting language proprietary to Hyperion applications  (MaxL, ESSCMD) from documented business requirements.  
• Gathering and documenting requirements. 
• Supporting the application by resolving daily issues with the production applications including answering user questions.
• Work directly with the users on a daily basis to enable them to use the system as designed.

1. Gain knowledge in specific areas of the Hyperion application and Mirant's Business.
2. Participate in requirements gathering session with users.
3. Software development skills, with a focus on supporting the Hyperion application and custom code including PL/SQL, SQL, Excel VBA.
4. Participate in new projects related to Hyperion with a focus on requirements gathering and new development.
5. Administer technical production and test environments including Wintel and UNIX application servers.
6. Liason with other IT groups.
7. Adhere to established Sarbanes-Oxley controls and Mirant policies and standards.

•  5 - 7 years Information Systems experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience preferably with PL/SQL, Excel VBA, Oracle databases
• Minimum of 3 years technical experience with Hyperion Essbase and Planning, as well as the other System 9 Hyperion products.
• Functional understanding of HR, Accounting, Finance, and Planning & Budgeting

Preferred: Knowledge of the Energy business financials

Job Requirements - Education/Training:

Required: Undergraduate college degree, or equivalent experience.

Preferred: B.S., Computer Science or other equivalent degree.
